Kobe Bryant: Defensive Doberman (Part 2)
Part 2 of the Defensive Doberman videos I put together. This one highlights Kobe's still impressive man-to-man, 1 on 1 defense in the 2nd half of his career, when he donned the #24 for the Purple and Gold.
Kobe gained the nickname "The Doberman" during his 2008 Olympics run, where he guarded the opposing country's best perimeter player and typically made them look like they hadn't played basketball before. Highlights of that run are included.
Additionally, a small clip by Michael Jordan is included to explain Kobe's psyche and how "ludicrous" it is for a guy his age to be guarding point guards like Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, or Russell Westbrook on a regular basis.
Though not as energetic off-ball in his later years, Kobe remains a stellar on-ball defender and this video highlights much of that defensive prowess. Sprinkled around the video are a few offensive highlights showing the effect of his defense converted into offense. There is also one occasion of the opposite effect.
Once more, my interest here isn't in the results of the play (a score/foul), but on highlighting Kobe's hounding defense for entire possessions, often on some of the most adept ball-handlers/athletes the league has yet seen. Enjoy.
Special Thanks to +KentCho , whose clips comprised a bulk of these highlights. A great channel for 1v1 Defense Highlights.
Disclaimer: I own none of these videos/clips/music. This mix is not meant to infringe upon anyone's copyrights. More specifically, this video is not/will not be used for any form of financial gains. It is purely for entertainment (educational) purposes.
Instrumentals (in order of appearance):
"The Way I Am" - Eminem
"Hypnotize" - The Notorious B.I.G.
"Xxplosive" - Dr. Dre

Kobe Bryant: Defensive Doberman

The #8 Years. I needed to put clips of Kobe playing man-to-man defense against some of the best perimeter players of his era. It wasn't easy to track these clips down since most videos focus on highlights (blocks/steals), and I'm thankful to any and all whose clips were featured in this video. In any case, the focus of this video is on highlighting Kobe's prowess at excellent on-ball defense. B...

Rams' Defense Highlights 2009
Переглядів 22 тис.14 років тому
It wasn't all bad for the Rams on the defensive side of the ball in 2009. Strong performances by rookie Middle Linebacker James Laurinaitis, sophomore Defensive End Chris Long, and veterans Leonard Little, James Hall, and Oshiomogho Atogwe, among others produced turnovers and sacks that can someday become a staple of the Rams' Defense. Here are some of the highlights. All videos/clips property ...
Why the Rams Need a Defensive Tackle (Suh or McCoy)
Переглядів 3,2 тис.14 років тому
I made this video containing highlights(lowlights) of the St. Louis Rams' 2009 Season and the collective front 7's inability to contain the running game as well as provide and interior pass rush vital to stopping passing plays in today's NFL. I felt it was necessary to make this video due to the growing belief that the Rams "HAVE TO" take a QB with the #1 pick because we apparently forgot that ...
Wow 😮😮
Nice 😅😂
The most underrated part of his game. Honestly the greatest skilled player to ever play. Will always be my GOAT
Fun fact: MJ's hands might be bigger than that of kobe's. But KOBE has a longer wingspan than mj.
See kobe will guard the best player on the team...lebron will guard a player like mark madsen 😂😂
Holy shit
Watch Kobe not allow ball handlers to go to their strong hand and always force to the help if need be. My GOAT
It's real. He stopped dominating at that end later, but 99--05 Kobe was as good a perimeter defender as anybody in the league.
I disagree Kobe was a great defender longer the 05 he started carrying more offensive load but he still was the best defender at his position
Theres a reason jordan said Kobe could probably beat him 1v1. Look at 18 year old Kobe blocking prime MJ shot with great defense. Prime for prime Kobe would beat jordan. Jordan can still be the goat if that’s what you believe. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive.
They disrespect him so much since his passing it’s a damn shame what the game of basketball is becoming mentally amongst fans and on court amongst players
Jordan his cursed just as much as I am powerful words
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Kobe's defense on Wade is a thing of beauty
It's not legit without [Kobe vs [A.I.]
It's quite interesting that westbrook couldnt blow by kobe even Chris paul and other elite point guards. That defensive stance of kobe is just very hard to break down.
Everytime I bring up Kobe's defensive accomplishments, people tell me he stoled them. His defense was always overlooked.
His Rebounding as well
Kobe blocking Jordan goat
He made Dwayne Wade look like a JV player, and that's no easy feat.
HE SHUT IVERSON DOWN 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 WHAT GREAT PLAYER DID LEBRON OR JORDAN SHUT DOWN AND COMPARE THAT TO SHUTTING DOWN IVERSON
Gracias Kobe
I love what Kobe did to LeQueen and how that Bxtxh reacted
Kobe was cheated out of MVPs and defensive players of the year
The Art of defense💓
One of the best defenders ever. When he locks you in its over.
Work of art! RIP GOAT
Just his presence could make someone passive in the offensive end.
His arms reach is insane!
Cause I am whatever you say I am
UA-cam announces sucks!
Now in the NBA the game is played like horse. All offense no defense!! RIP NBA!
It's not fair, you put Kobe on Jordan and on AI? It's not fair... Sick the Doberman on them!!!!!
Sick the Doberman on them, no mercy!!!!!
Some of the most beautiful defense we will ever see
According to Harden fans defense is no longer apart of basketball.
They believe Harden's better than Kobe. The worst are the media heads feeding them this garbage. The shit they used to criticize Kobe for, is now the reason they praise Harden and argue for his MVP. The disrespect was petty but the hypocrisy is disgusting.
Jordan , pippen , Kobe , GP , Tony Allen , KG , Kawhi . Some of the best defenders EVER
The disrespect to Tim Duncan smh
@@bruhbruh1580 I'm pretty sure he's talking about wing/perimeter defenders.
It's 2020, just checkin' in.
4:38 looks like when AI had the chance to challenge MJ's defense
Who still here
Aint goin nowhere #MambaARMY
The Goat showed up every time to hand your favorite player that L
Love the video but god is the frame rate bad
Kobe no ka oi

Rip Kobe

RIP Mamba
the most underrrated part of his game rip kobe
Cap his IQ is the most underrated part of his game
12 all defensive teams 9 * on first team and three times on second team and cheated out of defensive players of the year and lately cheated out of his greatness 34000 points 12 all-defensive teams 18 time all star five championships two Olympic gold medals hoping to bring back the gold medal medals to America Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all in a class by themselves what they put out offensively and defensively separates them from anybody that ever played the game.
